The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that the Boatman-Ainsworth House in Lakewood was sold to a buyer from New Jersey who bought the house without coming to Lakewood to see the house in person.
The home has been on the State of Washington Historic Registry since 1974. It was also put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. in 2003 it was one of the first homes put on the City of Lakewood Historic Registry.
The home is named for the first two owners of the property. Willis Boatman was an early settler to the Lakewood area. He built the home on his 160 acre homestead in the 1850′s Boatman sold the home in 1878 to Capt. John Ainsworth.

According to the Pierce County Auditor the home sold for $280,000. The 2800 sqft home is listed as 4 bedrooms and 1.75 bathrooms. The home is on a 54,000sqft lot.
